I found myself wondering if Diana was perhaps experiences a Dorothy Gale moment and wasn’t actually transported back in time but rather having a delirious hallucination.

I’ve enslavrd yet read anything by her, though I’ve come across her name neslaved times in my travels through romance-land.

I love his character and though he was the powerful general, I love how Diana could drive him crazy. Virginia Henley July 22, At least the writing style was competent. We meet our heroine, Diana. From the Paperback edition. Wow, Loved It An author’s ability to entice and seduce you into a story and keep you entrapped with the tale until the very end is a rare and gifted talent.

Goes to Ancient Rome, sex sex virgijia sex. If I recall correctly, her birthday was mentioned as being a month or so away at the beginning of the story. She divides her time between Ontario, Canada, and St. Lord Ruark Helford seemed the answer to her reckless prayers. When Diana is thrown back in time, we the reader quickly realize that the Roman Marcus Magnus is a distant relative of the aforementioned earl, so identical to a point where Diana can barely see a difference between the two.


This was one of my favorites from Virginia Henley. She decides its a good idea to place an antique Roman helmet on her head.

When Diana is returned to her time she has to convince those around her that she had, in fact, been back in roman times.

The parallels between Marcus and Mark Hardwick, the earl, really turned me off.

When Diana comes bu and shares her story to the Earl, he suddenly starts to ‘remember’ the life they shared in Ancient Rome. The story had some very high moments, but some not so great ones as well.
